Like many of you reading this right now, I decided that I wanted to start my own business . Not just my own business but a business I could work on my schedule, out of my home .
It's easier than ever to start a home based business. If you are not sure if self-employment is right for you, start with something you can do in your spare time. If you enjoy it and make money at it, then you can expand to full-time. Here are some ideas for starting a home based business.
Anyone can turn their skills, knowledge and experience into a paying job . Check out Lisa Orrell's guest blog post on this site and her book " Boomers Into Business ", even if you are not a baby-boomer.
I have been self-employed before, but I was paid on an hourly basis. While I loved my work and my clients the big drawback was that I could only work so many hours in a day and I only got paid when I was with a client. So my income was limited.
When creating my new business one of my goals was to create something that would generate income for me 24 hours a day, whether I was directly involved or not.
My solution? A web-based business, of course!
There is a huge river of money flowing through the internet every minute of every day and I set out to dip my cup into that river and draw some of it for me. The potential for a web-based business is unlimited because I can reach people all over the world at any time. I don't even have to speak their language or leave my house. I just need to provide people with something they can use-a solution to their problems-in short-VALUE.
But back to my story and how I got involved with SBI!
Once I decided to start my web-based business I set out to learn all I could about websites, web marketing, search engine optimization, blogging, you name it. I read books, I read many online guides and articles. I went to Meetup groups and started learning from others who blogged, designed websites, and had web-based businesses. I met many people who would have been happy to design and create a website for me- for a price . I'm sure they would have done a great job, but I had no money!
I'm very independent and like to be self-sufficient . I wanted control of my site. I wanted to not only create it, but have the freedom to add to it or change it anytime I wanted. I did not want to have to depend on someone else's schedule to get that done.
I hired a designer to set up my first website and it took days for her to call me back whenever I had a question or needed an update. It was frustrating , to say the least.
To program or not to program?
I figured the only way to do have the freedom and control I wanted was to learn html programming.
Now, I am not, nor have I ever been a highly technical person. I can use a computer and pick up most applications fairly quickly-but a programmer, I am NOT!
Being hard headed as I am, I thought "Well if programming is what I need to learn to accomplish my goal, then I'll learn it. " My heart wasn't in it, though. I am passionate about my message and helping people find work they love, but I DON'T get excited about programming.
I was telling all of this to a friend of mine whom I hadn't seen in a long time. She said "Stop right there. You don't need to learn programming to have your own web-based business and control all of the content yourself. I have 2 web-based businesses through SBI! and it's great."
I must admit, I was skeptical at first. Through all my research I hadn't found a complete turn-key solution like SBI! provides.
She sent me a link and the rest, as they say, is history. SBI! was exactly what I had been searching for!!
I checked out the money-back offer that SBI! made. I could try out the product for 90 days and if I didn't like it I could cancel and get my money back. Seems like a no-brainer to me. So I signed up and I have been SOOOO impressed at the value that SBI! delivers.
They provide all the information, training, tools, analytics, everything you need to not just have a website , but a money-making, web-based business .
They take you through a step-by-step process to first analyze your idea in terms of profitability and viability. (You know how I love step-by-step instructions!) Then they give you all the training and tools you need to create your site and start to generate income .
If you do know html programming, you will still find SBI! a valuable resource. Having a profitable web-based business is more than just creating a pretty website . It needs to work -and SBI! shows you how to do that.
I do make a commission from anyone who signs up with SBI! through my site, but KNOW that I do not promote anything that I do not strongly believe in.
They are helping to make my dream come true and they can help you too. You are only lmited by your own imagination and desire.
If you do the work, you will get the results you want. That's true for a web-based business or anything else in life.
